"MY MOTHERS GARDEN"
For those of you who want to have a loved ones house cleaned out, please consider how the hoarder may respond. The following link is trailer for the documentary "My Mothers Garden" by Cynthia Lester who had her mothers home cleaned. It is a touching story about the suffering of an entire family and the effects hoarding has had on all their lives. There is graphic language in this video, but I highly recommend you view it!

Many hoarders in an attempt to further isolate themselves and to protect their possesions will install security bars or screens on their windows and doors. This video shows why this is not a good idea. If you insist on installing these security bars, make sure a quick release is also installed on the inside so they can be removed quickly. This video was filmed in Houston on a firefighters helmet camera as they were dispatched to a residential structure fire with a trapped victim.
